The Internet Book Shop went live in June 1994. It is a powerful tool which enables people to look for and order books on line. There is a catalogue of more than 912,000 titles which can be searched by subject, author, ISBN and title of publisher. 150 Publishers have their Web pages held on this site along with 90,000 extended descriptions of books provided by the publishers.

The site is structured in a friendly way that makes it easy-to-use and includes "Book of the Month", speciality areas and lots of different publishers and an author showcase.

The site is free to the user and those who set up an account can order online. It is fully interactive and details of your account and enquiries on the status of orders can be checked online. The iBS now has 14 full time employees and is due to be floated on the UK stock market (believed to be a first).
