Freihofer is the first bookshop in Switzerland with its own internet-homepage, started the first of January 1995. It was a new experience, and had a big feedback in the printed press, also in the media like radio and television. Freihofer AG published its own catalogues of scientific books which were available in our three bookshops in Zurich. Later, it started with the database of Koch, nef and Oettinger, which gave customers access to 270'000 listed books in German. In January 97, it gave our customers access to the VLB (Verzeichnis lieferbarer Bücher) a database of 720'000 titles in German and in English.

The hits per day to the site started with about 200; in January 1997 is at 1698.
for 1996:

• Orders from February to December.
  in December, orders were more than twice the number of February
• Ordered books February to December
  in December, the number of ordered books decreased - rising in January 97 again
• Turnover
  the amount in December is more than three times the February turnover.
